Meisha Shofner is a Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Meisha received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Materials Science Technical Block) at The University of Texas at Austin and her Ph.D. in Materials Science from Rice University. Prior to beginning graduate school, she was employed as a design engineer by FMC in the Subsea Engineering Division, working at two plant locations (Houston, Texas and the Republic of Singapore). Following post-doctoral research training at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Meisha joined the faculty at Georgia Tech in 2005. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia.
Meisha’s research interests include structure-property and processing-performance relationships in polymer nanocomposites, polymer crystallization as a tool for directed assembly, processing and mechanical properties of hierarchical structures, and new materials development for additive manufacturing.
